Places to Eat Downtown Holland

When you hear of Holland, Michigan you probably think of Dutch heritage, tulips, and Lake Michigan. All of this is true, but did you know that Holland is also home to many great places to eat? Step onto Eighth Street to find many great food options featuring all different cuisine types. Holland’s quaint downtown has so much to offer, with heated sidewalks for those snowy winters!

Big Lake Brewing

Stop into Big Lake Brewing’s taproom and check out their tap list and full food menu. You’ll find the usual American fare and a few more creative items like the Beer Mac and Cheese Flatbread. It comes topped with cavatappi, bacon, cheddar, and mozzarella!

Big E’s Sports Grill

Big E’s Sports Grill is a great downtown Holland restaurant to watch a sporting event and grab a burger. This holland eatery has televisions around the restaurant so you won’t miss any critical moments during the big games! Snack on some Loaded Tots, covered in a three-cheese blend, bacon, green onion, and spicy ranch, or grab a Ron Burgundy Burger, topped with burgundy sauteed mushrooms, Founders IPA mustard, Swiss cheese, and caramelized onions. Whatever you choose, you’re sure to have a great meal at Big E’s.

Fricano’s Too

Home to the best thin crust pizza around, Fricano’s Too is a great option to grab a bite to eat in downtown Holland. Fricano’s keeps it simple with five topping options, but that’s been enough to keep people flocking back to their locations for over 60 years! Maybe you should be one of them…

Butch’s Dry Dock

Downtown Holland’s only fine dining restaurant will not disappoint! Butch’s Dry Dock is a great date night or a unique celebration option. With fresh and locally sourced ingredients, Butch’s will surely give you a meal that you’ll remember! Reservations are strongly recommended.

City Delicatessen

City Delicatessen is a hot sandwich shop with creative sandwiches out the wazoo! With flavors worldwide and salads made from fresh ingredients, you’ll be hard-pressed to stop eating. Try their bestselling sandwich, The San Francisco, which features seasoned chicken, bacon, pepper jack, guacamole, tomatoes, and chipotle mayo on a panini. Need catering? City Delicatessen does an excellent job catering and will even deliver to local Holland businesses for free. Can you say win-win?

New Holland Brewing

New Holland Brewing is proud to call Holland home! Visit the pub in downtown Holland to get a taste of their beer and spirits that originated in Tulip City. They also have a full menu, including salads, sandwiches, and creative pizzas to go along with their awesome drinks.

Hops at 84 East

Looking for an extensive list of craft beer? Hops at 84 East has over 60 taps and an extensive scotch and bourbon menu. Along with the great beverage, selections is a full food menu of pub-style food. Hop is an excellent option for food to eat in downtown Holland.

Kitchen Zero is the place to be if it’s a quick lunch you’re looking for! Check out the quick service deli counter for hand-crafted sandwiches and salads made from top-of-the-line meats and cheeses and topped with hand-made condiments and dressings. Kitchen Zero is also a specialty grocer with many unique items! This is an excellent restaurant in downtown Holland to head to on your lunch break.

Obstacle No. 1

Poquito

Gather some friends and head to Poquito for a tapas night! The owner is very active in the business and can often be found behind the counter preparing food. This is a great downtown Holland restaurant option for Asian cuisine.

Waverly Stone Gastropub

Hopcat

Grab a beer and a burger at Hopcat in downtown Holland! Hopcat has an extensive beer list that’s curated especially for the Holland community. Pair your beer with some amazing pub-fare food, and it’s a party for your tastebuds! Be sure not to miss out on the famous Cosmik fries beer battered fries sprinkled with a top-secret cracked pepper seasoning. One of our favorite places to eat downtown holland!

Windmill Restaurant

Windmill Restaurant is the place to go for brunch in downtown Holland! This great resteraunt serves breakfast and lunch all day and is known for its fresh homemade bread that everyone is sure to love. Need suggestions on what to eat? Try their famous Windmill Hashbrown Omelet¾ham, bacon or sausage, onion, cheese, and egg all folded inside of hashbrowns and served with toast. Yum!
