Now, this isn’t just any old park, but an adventure sports park! Summer

You may hear “Luge” and think there are only winter activities at Muskegon Luge and Adventure Sports Park, but that is very far from the truth. There are so many fun summer things to do that you simply won’t want to miss!

Wheel Luge

Hop aboard a sled with in-line wheels on the bottom to experience the wheel luge at Muskegon Luge! This summer track will have you luging over 320 ft of track, including two curves you will have to steer through. You don’t want to miss this track as it is the only one of its kind in North America.

Archery

If you want to learn how to shoot a compound bow, you will want to check out the archery course at Muskegon Luge. Participants will learn how to properly handle and shoot a compound bow at both bag and 3D targets. With the help of their knowledgeable archery instructors, you will be hitting the bullseye in no time!

Muskegon Luge recommends that participants can have a full understanding of instruction as well as be able to extend their arms while holding a 5lb bow for up to 30 seconds – this is usually suitable for children aged 7 and up. Adults are also welcome to participate, as bows are available for all sizes.

Zip Line

Fly through the air with the greatest of ease on Muskegon Luge’s 1400ft dual zip line. Grab a friend and strap in for a memorable ride as you race side by side from the top of a Lake Michigan sand dune through the treetops of a white pine and oak forest! Feel the warm Michigan wind in your face while you reach speeds of up to 25 mph!

Chill Garden

Need to take a break from the high-speed activities at Muskegon Luge? Head to the Chill Garden and do just that. Take a rest in a hammock before your next activity, or try your balance on the slack line. They even have yard games for your enjoyment. The Chill Garden is a great place to stop and regroup before your next adventure!

Hike and Explore

Lace up your hiking boots and jump on one (or more) of the trails at Muskegon Luge. With four different trails to choose from, hikers of all abilities are sure to find a trail for them, including those who need mobility assistance! Trail Quest

If you want to add more challenge and excitement to your hike, you will want to play Trail Quest while at Muskegon Luge. Put your problem-solving skills to the test on the hiking trails that spread over 300 acres of Muskegon State Park in this escape room-inspired game!

Each team gets a map with checkpoints that will be throughout the Sports Complex. At each checkpoint, there is a locked box with a token inside that is worth points. To unlock the box, you will have to solve a riddle with clues that you find along the way! Be the team to solve the most clues and collect the most points in a set amount of time to win!

Adaptive Hiking and Universal Accessibility

Perhaps one of the greatest things about Muskegon Luge is they strive to include everyone in their park regardless of disabilities.  All the activities found at Muskegon Luge are adaptable, including the hiking trails and Trail Quest. The park also has a track chair available upon request to assist those that may need mobility assistance.

Winter

As soon as the Michigan snow flies, Muskegon Luge and Adventure Sports Park get prepped to provide a variety of fun winter activities! Including winter luge, ice skating, winter hikes, and so much more.

Winter Luge

Experience one of only four luge tracks in the United States right here in Michigan at Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park! Better yet, it is the only artificial track that is made from artificial ice and not refrigerated – How cool is that? Participants are given equipment and training before embarking on this Olympian designed 850 ft track, including six curves! Feel like you are in the Winter Olympics as the winter air kisses your cheeks at speeds of up to 30 mph!

Ice Skating

Grab your skates and hit the rink for some good old-fashioned ice skating and hockey! Muskegon Luge’s ice-skating rink is built using the winter air to freeze water which makes the rink. Enjoy a nice skate under the winter sky and a lighted rink in the family skating zone, or bring your sticks and pucks for a little friendly hockey game.

Skate through the Woods

Skip skating in a circle and skate through the woods instead! Embark on a 1/4-mile ice skating trail through the white pine forest. Don’t want to stop when the sun sets? Have no fear, the trail is lighted every night – Perfect for a family night skate or date night!

Cross-Country Skiing

Explore Muskegon State Park in the winter as you maneuver through the trails while cross-country skiing! The majority of the terrain allows for a gentile ski through the woods, dunes, and Lost Lake. However, if you are in for a challenge, you will want to try Spencer’s Advanced Trail or Verna’s Classic Backwoods Trail. The trails are groomed daily, if weather permits, and accommodate both gliding and skate skiing! All trails are lighted every night until the park closes, so you can pack in as much fun on the winter days.

Easy to Advanced Trails

Our ski trails are well marked, and easy-to-read trail maps are provided with a trail pass. The complex has five different trail systems for all level skiers. Start on an easy, flat trail like the 2.5-kilometer White Night Trail. Our 5-kilometer Lost Lake Trail will take you up on the dune ridge and down to Lost Lake. You can work your way up to Spencer’s Advanced 2 Kilometer Trail or Verna’s Classic Backwoods Trail for a challenge.

Snow Shoeing

Gain access to some breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and Muskegon lake when you snowshoe the trails at Muskegon Luge. The trail system is made up of four loops ranging in difficulty. If you are up for a challenge, you will want to be sure to try Highlands Loop for a great view of Lake Michigan from atop a sand dune! All of the trails are groomed and marked to help guide you along your way. Although the snowshoeing trails are not lighted, they are easily accessible with a quality headlamp.
